Management platform Glossary

Secure Socket Layer (SSL)

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is an encryption-based Internet security protocol that provides privacy, authentication, and integrity to Internet communications. A website that implements SSL/TLS has HTTPS in its URL instead of HTTP.

Privacy-Enhanced Mail (PEM)

PEM is an email security standard that enables safe electronic mail communication via the internet. Email message security has been incredibly critical in recent years, so the internet architecture board has adopted it to address security concerns.

Node ID

The names systems in a network use to identify one another are called node IDs. Consequently, each node in a particular network must have a distinct node ID.

Web server configuration

A web server configuration file is installed as part of the web server. Configuration consists of adding directives that identify file locations of two files: the binary web server plug-in file and the plug-in configuration file.

SSL settings

Secure Sockets Layer, or SSL, is a mechanism that safeguards online communication. To protect your data, using SSL is advised while setting up your email account in an email application.

Cloud-scale applications

A cloud-scale service, application, system, or platform is one that can be scaled without encountering any technical limitations. Such cloud technologies don't have any technical boundaries; their only constraints are financial resources, contractual restrictions, and physical resources like data centers.

UDP traffic

Within Mobius’ Management Platform reporting settings, StatsD is a simple daemon to aggregate and summarize application metrics. StatsD is included in an application code to capture the pre-defined types of metrics. The StatsD client library then sends each individual call to the StatsD server over a UDP datagram. The StatsD daemon will then listen to the UDP traffic from all application libraries, aggregate data over time, and “flush” it at the desired interval to the backend.

UDP datagram

User Datagram Protocol (UDP) is a communications protocol largely used to provide low-latency, loss-tolerant connections between internet-based applications. It is often used for time-sensitive applications like gaming, watching films, or Domain Name System (DNS) lookups
